Bio

Anna My Charlotte is a harpist singer-songwriter living in the Forest of Dean. She writes enchanting folk songs about her quirky family and folk legends. She sees songwriting as a way of documenting her family tree. The album 'Of Lineage and Geese' was recorded at Stonedog studios in Loughborough and was released in November 2016.

Anna grew up in Abergavenny, Wales. A grade 8 pianist who started playing the piano age 5, Anna loved playing the music of the romantic composers including Chopin and Debussy. She used to play the Autoharp, but now plays a Welsh folk harp. She is inspired by victorian hymns and traditional folk songs.

She has supported Trembling Bells at The Musician, Leicester. Anna loves playing at festivals. She has played in the caves at the Malt Cross Festival in Nottingham. She has also played at the Riverside Festival, Leicester, picnic in the park, Loughborough and Folk On The Lawn, Tintern. She has also collaborated with No Mans Heath (aka Tom Kane) in the summer of 2016.

In an attempt to get back to her roots, Anna is relearning the Welsh language and folk songs in that tongue.
